John Ferguson

โœ“ Sourced record
โ„น Added from another copy of the treeLinked as a son of James Ferguson and Elizabeth White, with four brothers, from the 29 October 2026 export of the Ancestry tree. The 1911 census page now on file has a John Ferguson aged 14 in the household of Lizzie Ferguson, a widow, with a brother Robert aged 17. The age fits a birth on 22 December 1896, but the brothers listed there are not the ones in that tree, so the census household is a likely rather than certain match.

โš  A likely match, not a certain oneJohn Ferguson, aged 14, fits the birth of John Ferguson on 22 December 1896. But the Ancestry tree has him as one of five sons of James Ferguson and Elizabeth White, and this household has only Robert (17) and John (14) with a widowed mother of 49 (Elizabeth White is put at about 1867). The tree has no Robert. Either this is a different John Ferguson or the tree's brothers need checking. The file was named "john ferguson", and Dalmarnock is next to Bridgeton where the Wards lived, but nothing on the page names the Wards.
โ„น Reading the handwritingThe occupation reads as woodborer with the industry as the furniture trade, but the writing is hard to read. John's entry is ditto marks. The marital status for John is a dash, taken to mean single.
